First introduced in 1990, the groundbreaking Endura design was instrumental in pioneering the concept of lightweight, injection-molded folding knife handles. The defining feature of this elite version of the Endura is its desert camouflage Zome handle. Zome (pronounced "zoh-may") is a class of traditional Japanese handicrafts that specializes in dyeing textiles. Inspired by this rich cultural and artistic heritage, the injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced- nylon (FRN) handles of Spyderco's Zome knives are molded in a light base color and then individually hand dyed by expert Japanese artisans. Using a technique reminiscent of classical hiki-zome (brush dyeing), darker colors of dye are hand brushed onto the handle to create distinctive, one-of-a-kind patterns. In this case, the color palette and pattern replicate military desert camouflage. 

All other features of this remarkable knife are consistent with the time-tested standard versions of the Endura, including a full-flat-ground PlainEdge™ blade crafted from VG-10 stainless steel, a sturdy back lock mechanism, and a four-position hourglass pocket clip that supports all possible carry configurations.
