In the early 1990's, Spyderco's groundbreaking Endura helped pioneer the concept of lightweight, injection-molded folding knife handles. Still one of Spyderco's most popular and enduring models, the highly refined fourth-generation Endura 4 Lightweight has inspired numerous variations and is a natural canvas for Exclusive projects.

The most distinctive feature of this unique knife is its injection-molded handle, which combines glow-in-the-dark fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) with a black Zome treatment. The handle's base FRN material is enhanced with phosphor, which becomes energized when exposed to light and can then radiate its own visible light in the dark. The glow-in-the-dark FRN is then hand dyed using a process called Zome (pronounced "zoh-may"). Inspired by traditional art forms used to dye textiles, expert Japanese artisans hand brush a black dye onto each handle to create distinctive, one-of-a-kind patterns. This labor-intensive technique is reminiscent of classical hiki-zome (brush dyeing) and makes every one of these knives an individual work of art.

All other features of this remarkable knife are consistent with the standard version of the Endura 4 Lightweight, including a full-flat-ground PlainEdge™ blade crafted from VG-10 stainless steel, a sturdy back lock mechanism, and a polished four-position hourglass pocket clip that supports ambidextrous tip-up or tip-down carry.
