    Ed Schempp Design
    Made in Japan

Ed Schempp does something few custom knifemakers do; he combines ethnic and indigenous knife styles into highly functional modern folding knives.

A revival of an earlier Persian Folder collaboration, the Spyderco/Schempp Persian2 combines Western with Eastern knife influences by including a classic Persian appearance with modern steels, locking mechanisms and pocket clips.  Historically Persian knives were fixed blades used ceremonially and for everyday living.

The Persian Folder2 winds its way in a graceful sweeping profile from the tip of its VG-10 flat-ground blade to a curvaceous G-10 handle.  Lighter and thinner than the original Spyderco Persian folder, the Persian Folder2 has skeletonized internal handle liners and a slimmer profile.  The handle's curves act as a series of leveraging hand-holds, positioning a gripped hand in comfort and in control.

Located mid-spine is a back- lock with the added safety feature of a David Boye Dent.  Where blade and handle join is a finger choil that positions the index finger safely, nearer to the cutting edge for close- in and detailed cutting.

Completing the handle is a black steel tip-up right-hand positioned pocket clip, embellished with a gold Spyderco logo bug.
