A tanto is all about piercing power. And it stands to reason, if you need to pierce something, it's likely to be something pretty tough. This is the knife designed to handle that task.

Because more metal supports the point of the 0700’s extra-wide tanto blade, its piercing point is extra strong—even for a tanto. What’s more, the S30V premium steel blade is .121 in. (.307 cm) thick. That thicker blade stock, combined with the premium strength of S30V steel, just reinforces our point; that the 0700 is one tough tanto. A little more on the S30V steel; it was specifically formulated by Crucible as a high-performance knife steel. It is an advanced powdered steel, which means its grain structure is very fine and very even. That translates to an ability to be sharpened to a razor edge—which ZT does—and to hold that edge for a very long time. S30V provides an outstanding balance between its edge holding capability, wear resistance, and stain resistance.

The 0700 is a manual knife, but easily opens one-handed with the ambidextrous flipper blade protrusion or thumbstud. While the 0700 is a substantial knife, lightweight G-10 handles make it easier to carry, too.
