The ZT-9 is the result of Zero Tolerance’s dedication to making the finest in military and professional-duty knives. In fact, when ZT designed the ZT-9, their intention was to produce the strongest production knife on the face of the earth. ZT think they succeeded.
At a full ¼ inch wide, the full-tang ZT-9 blade is thicker than standard bayonet blades and protrudes a full 6 inches past the muzzle of a rifle, when mounted, again providing a little bit more than the standard bayonet. But another important difference is the quality of the steel—S30V, like many of ZT’s tank-like knives. ZT used it because, for all-around performance, S30V is top-of-the-line in high-end stainless steel. Tough. Wear resistant. Yet sharpens relatively easily.
In addition to its intended purpose as a bayonet, the ZT-9 also makes an effective field knife. It is comfortable in the hand and is an excellent weight for a field knife. For storage—or when you’re using the ZT-9 as a field knife—there’s a high-impact polymer sheath with ballistic-nylon harness. This versatile sheath can be worn in the drop-down position, on a belt, or attached using the built-in slots.
